Xavier Woods was recently interviewed by the Post And Courier. This was in order to promote the upcoming WWE live event in Charleston.
During the interview, Woods revealed the inspiration behind his ring name.
Here is what Woods said about his name:
“[TNA referee] Earl Hebner used to call me ‘Tiger,’ so I went with the last name Woods because I thought it was funny.
I’m a huge fan of X-Men, and just intelligence in general, and the leader in charge is named Prof. Charles Xavier. I took Xavier from him, and put together the two names.
Luckily it got through creative and everything, and my name is now Xavier Woods.”
Pretty cool to hear the story behind it.
On a related note, Braun Strowman recently revealed the inspiration for his ring name. You can read more about that here.
