The big story from several days ago was that Chris Jericho will be wrestling Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12. This will take place on January 4th, 2018 in the Tokyo Dome. This was a major surprise for wrestling fans.
Some fans have speculated that this means there could be some tension between WWE and Jericho because of this announcement. That doesn’t seem to be the case according to a new report.
Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via Wrestling INC), says that WWE is believed to have no issue with Jericho doing the match against Omega.
Also, people close to the situation expect Jericho to return to WWE in 2018.
One source says that it could be as soon as the 25th anniversary show for RAW on January 22nd, 2018. The idea would be that his return would be an even bigger deal with him coming off of such a high-profile match in NJPW.
The 25th anniversary show will feature many WWE legends and there is no question that Jericho would fit right in.
