WWE called up 5 female talents from NXT this week. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville appeared alongside Paige to attack the RAW Women’s division. The next night, Ruby Riot, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan attacked the Smackdown Women’s division.
After all of these call ups, fans were immediately speculating that this meant a Women’s Royal Rumble match was coming this year. Unfortunately, we have some bad news to share.
The latest on the Women’s Royal Rumble.
On Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), Meltzer was asked if there are any plans to do a Women’s Royal Rumble match this year. He says that right now there are no plans for it. That could change but that isn’t the current plan.
This corroborates with Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, who recently said that he hasn’t heard that a Women’s Royal Rumble match was in the works:
Not sure where this Women’s Royal Rumble speculation keeps coming from, but I haven’t heard anything like that being in the works.

Satin also reported the reason why WWE called up so many talents from NXT, which you can check out here.
