3) The Likely Mystery Opponents For The Viking Raiders At TLC
So if it isn’t Webster and Andrews, who will be the mystery opponents for The Viking Raiders at TLC?
The rumor going around is that it will be Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson facing the Viking Raiders at the PPV. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer says that this match was on the internal schedule for TLC a week ago.
Here is what he wrote:
There was a tease for Viking Raiders vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson for the Raw tag titles already. The match was on the schedule for the show last week, teased on Raw, and indications we were given is that it is still on the card. What has been announced is the Viking Raiders doing an open challenge for the titles, but with that match not a secret and teased, who knows if they will go with the original plans.
My Take: WWE could still surprise us but it will probably end up being The O.C.
2) Vince McMahon’s New Philosophy For Booking PPV Events
WWE took their time announcing matches for the upcoming TLC PPV. The first match wasn’t officially confirmed until the December 6th edition of Smackdown, which was a little more than a week before TLC.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon has a new philosophy for booking PPV events. Here is what Meltzer wrote:
McMahon’s new philosophy is that the PPV’s are all about network sign-ups, as opposed to the limited PPV business still being done. The belief based on patterns of sign-ups is that they are big the last day of the show, and not before.
So unlike ticket sales, which come a month or more in advance, and PPV parties, which get arranged days if not a week plus out, the dynamic is completely different and there is no need to rush anything.
My Take: It seems like a weird strategy because now everything feels rushed.
