Monday Night RAW took place on Christmas Day this year as we all know. A heavy topic leading into the show was whether or not WWE should have aired the show live. In the past, the company would tape it beforehand when it landed on a day like Christmas so employees could spend some time with their families.
It turns out that WWE did do something for the wrestlers for being away from their families on Christmas.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that WWE threw a Christmas party for all of the roster on Monday after RAW.
Also, Johnson says that WWE picked up the hotel bills for both RAW and Smackdown rosters in Chicago as a thank you for being away from their families over the holidays (WWE stars are responsible for their own hotel and travel expenses in most cases).
As noted prior, the show ended up doing 2.703 million viewers. This was only down 3% from last weeks show. Airing on Christmas didn’t end up hurting viewership too much.
