Randy Orton won the 2017 Royal Rumble match, last eliminating Roman Reigns. With the win, he earned his place in the Wrestlemania 33 main event for the WWE World Championship. Now the only question is, who will Orton be facing at the event for the title?
John Cena defeated AJ Styles earlier in the night to win his record-tying 16th World Championship. So will it be Orton vs Cena at Wrestlemania? Doesn’t seem like it.
We posted prior to the rumble that rumors were floating around saying that it could be Orton vs Bray Wyatt for the title at Wrestlemania. The Elimination Chamber takes place very soon and Cena could lose the belt only a few weeks into his title reign.
On WWE’s results for the 2017 Royal Rumble, they also tease that Orton’s opponent won’t be Cena and it might be Bray Wyatt:
“They say that anything can happen in WWE, and although there are some who may claim Orton, as a veteran, was a favorite to win, consider the idea that, should he challenge for the WWE Championship, the champion himself may not be who it is right now after WWE Elimination Chamber. Added the variable of how Wyatt will respond to his lieutenant achieving a goal he badly wanted for himself, and it’s truly anyone’s guess as to what happens next”

This will certainly calm down some fans that don’t want to see Orton vs Cena main event Wrestlemania. I think many would be happy about Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt, especially if Wyatt was able to pick up a huge win. It is going to be a fun couple of weeks on the ‘Road To Wrestlemania’.
