WWE Survivor Series Rumors 2019

4) The Original Match That Was Being Advertised For Survivor Series

Up until recently, the Allstate Arena in Chicago had been advertising a big elimination match for Survivor Series.

Here is what they were originally advertising on their website:

Braun Strowman, Ricochet, Rey Mysterio, The Miz, and Drew McIntyre

vs

Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, Aleister Black, Finn Balor, and Daniel Bryan.

These plans have obviously been changed. Still, this provides us with a look at what WWE was originally planning for the PPV before NXT got involved.

3) The Scrapped Plans For A Title Change Before Survivor Series

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE was originally planning a Title change prior to Survivor Series.

The original plan was going to be Shinsuke Nakamura dropping his Intercontinental Title. Those plans have now been scrapped, with Nakamura vs AJ Styles vs Roderick Strong remaining on the card at Survivor Series. Here is what Meltzer said:

“Daniel Bryan, I believe was going to be in the match with Roderick Strong and AJ [Styles], which would have been an absolutely incredible three-way. I just know that Nakamura was losing the title to someone. He was being programmed with Bryan. It could have been Ali [that he would have lost the title to]. When Bryan got moved into the Wyatt match, Nakamura is now not losing so that has changed. So they changed that booking. The rest of the card is largely announced.”

2) Why Rusev vs Lashley Isn’t Happening At The Event

Bobby Lashley and Rusev have been feuding over Lana for the past several weeks. This has been a wild storyline, with it receiving mixed reviews from fans.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE feels as if the Survivor Series card is overloaded, which is why Lashley vs Rusev isn’t happening at the event:

The feeling is that the show is overloaded because of two three team elimination matches that in theory would have to go ten to 14 falls each.
