7) More Rumors On The Summerslam Location
According to a report from Ringside News, WWE is considering three specific locations for Summerslam.
This includes Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Puerto Rico. Here is what the site wrote:
We were additionally told by a someone within the creative team that other options are being thrown around as well. On top of rumors about SummerSlam taking place on a boat or a beach, there are also options floating around involving Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Puerto Rico.
My Take:
- I can’t wait to see what happens with Summerslam. I feel like there have been so many crazy rumors and I am excited to see what they actually end up doing.
6) Charlotte Flair To Miss Summerslam
According to Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, Charlotte Flair had surgery in late July. Because of that, there is no chance that Charlotte will be appearing at Summerslam.
Here is what he wrote:
talkSPORT has previously reported there is no chance the 34-year-old will compete at SummerSlam and we’re told that is still very much the case.
My Take:
- I am happy that we are getting a bit of a break from Charlotte. When she does return, I think that fans will appreciate her that much more.
5) The Original Plans For Charlotte Flair At Summerslam
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided some details on what WWE had originally planned for Charlotte at Summerslam. This was before the company knew that she would be out of action due to her having surgery.
It turns out that Charlotte was originally going to face Asuka at the event. Here is what Meltzer wrote:
At the time of the surgery, the idea was hopeful that she would be ready for SummerSlam which I believe was the Asuka vs. Flair title match that they instead rushed to television and the story was going to play out differently but there was a creative change.
My Take:
- Charlotte and Asuka do have some great chemistry. Still, it is a match that we have seen a ton, so I am fine with it not happening.
