Here are some of the biggest WWE Summerslam 2018 rumors that are floating around. Make sure to take all rumors with a grain of salt as always.
WWE Summerslam 2018 Rumors
13) The Length Of Summerslam
Strap yourselves in for a long night. According to Ringside News, cable providers have been told that the event could go until midnight. With the event starting at 7:00 PM (EST) that could mean a 5-hour main card.
Mix that in with a 2-hour kickoff show and we could be looking at a 7-hour show.
As of writing this, there are 13 confirmed matches for the card. It is going to be a long night.
12) The Backstage Feeling About Summerslam
We are getting closer and closer to Summerslam weekend and the card is shaping up. The event will feature Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. It will also feature AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe for the WWE Championship.
According to @Wrestlevotes a few weeks ago, there was a feeling backstage within WWE that Summerslam is lacking excitement.
Now that the event is almost here, do you think that has changed?
11) The Final Summerslam In Brooklyn
For the past 4 years, WWE has held Summerslam weekend in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center. This included NXT Takeover, Summerslam, RAW and Smackdown Live on their usual nights.
It appears as if Summerslam is finally moving to a new city after this year. With Wrestlemania 35 taking place in New York, current rumors suggest that Summerslam weekend in 2019 will be moving to a new location. The rumors also suggest that it could take place in a big MLB stadium but we will have to wait and see.
Make sure to enjoy Summerslam in Brooklyn for the 4th straight year because the event will be moving on!
10) Brock’s Title Reign Is Over At Summerslam
The rumor making the rounds is that Summerslam will be the place where Brock finally drops the Universal Championship.
Brock has held the Title for a long time and I think many fans would be happy with a change. Then again, most fans were convinced that Brock would be dropping the Title at Wrestlemania and the Greatest Royal Rumble. Both didn’t end up happening.
With Braun Strowman now holding the Money in the Bank contract, it doesn’t look like Brock has a chance to walk out of the event as Champion. After a year and a half, it finally looks like Brock will be dropping the belt.
