2) Daniel Bryan vs The Miz
This is a match that you could save for Wrestlemania in my books. This is one of (if not the best) storyline going in WWE right now. You can see the dislike between one another and it really feels like a special feud.
WWE is not waiting until Wrestlemania 35 though as it has been confirmed to be one of the marquee matches at Summerslam. Summerslam is still the second biggest show of the year so this is an awesome stage for this match to happen. The Miz has really grown as an in-ring performer over the past year or so. Based on the storyline and talent of both guys, this one has match of the night written all over it.
As for the winner, I am really not sure. My gut says the Miz wins the first one but the feud continues into a few more matches between them. This would also give him some major bragging rights over the next few months, which would be entertaining to hear.
Official Prediction: The Miz wins by cheating.
1) AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe – WWE Championship
Styles vs Joe for the WWE Title has been officially confirmed for Summerslam. This has the match of the night written all over it. Fans of TNA already know the chemistry these two have and I am sure it will translate into their first match on WWE television.
As for the winner, I think that Styles is going to retain. While saying that, the finish will clearly set-up a rematch between them at Hell in a Cell. I think that Joe is eventually going to win the Title, just not at Summerslam.
The way that I think they will do it, will be Styles getting himself disqualified. Joe has been bringing up AJ’s wife in the storyline, so it makes sense for him to lose his cool. Maybe he uses a weapon to get disqualified? Maybe a double countout happens because Styles just wants to brawl on the outside of the ring out of anger. I think this would be a safe finish so that they can extend this feud into Hell in a Cell next month (without either of them taking a pinfall loss).
Official Prediction: Styles gets himself disqualified (but retains the Title).
