A big shock at the Greatest Royal Rumble event was Roman Reigns not walking out with the Universal Championship. It wasn’t without controversy though as Roman’s feet hit the floor before Brock Lesnar’s. Still, Brock was awarded the victory and retained his Universal Championship.
So what is next for Reigns after losing to Brock again? Let’s speculate a little bit.
There is a short turnaround time for Reigns as he will face Samoa Joe at Backlash on May 6th. This is a feud that has been developing over the past few weeks. You are probably thinking that Reigns will defeat Joe to gain some momentum back. I actually think that is wrong.

I think that Joe is going to defeat Reigns at Backlash and there are two reasons. The first is that it would be a big win for Joe as he moves into his new role as one of the top heels on Smackdown Live. The second is that it allows WWE to turn all of Roman’s losing into an angle.
The storyline of Roman losing could be fun. After piling up all of these losses, Reigns eventually snaps out of frustration. This would be a chance to turn Reigns heel here if they wanted. If they don’t want a full-blown heel turn, they can still have him snap and take out his frustration on the RAW roster. If they go this route, they could do Reigns vs Lesnar at Money in the Bank or Summerslam with Reigns finally winning the Universal Title. Reigns has a case for a Universal Title rematch since his feet did hit the floor first. That finish gives me the sense that we will see another Reigns vs Brock match down the road.

I tend to agree…i think were going to see an unhinged Samoan…been a long time coming…he is finally going to be the bad ass he was meant to be…it might not be a full heel turn but it will definetly be interesting…they need to let Roman have a couple months to build more rage…then comes the rematch with Brock he deserves…this time Brock will take the beating…i hope he splits his head wide open like he did to Roman at WM34…SummerSlam would be perfect!
You let him be the bad ass Samoan he was intended to be…let the rage build…he won’t be cheating…full steam ahead…seek an destroy…i don’t know if it will be a full heel turn or not …he will finally have the edge he needs ….then the rematch Roman deserves should come at Summer Slam an have him kick Brocks ass an bring home the title…then have your full fledged faces think they can take the title off Roman…Perfect! No scripts…let Roman be Roman!
