WWE Stars Who Could (Realistically) Make The Jump To AEW

3) Matt Hardy

A name that I haven’t seen come up much is Matt Hardy. I actually think that Hardy could make the jump in 2020.

Hardy has a strong relationship with the Young Bucks and they have worked together on multiple occasions. Maybe they can convince Matt to jump ship?

Matt’s contract expires with WWE in early 2020. After that, he seems like a candidate to try it out. I am doubtful that WWE will ever push Matt as a singles guy and if he wants that, AEW might be the best place for him.

I have to include Matt here based on his relationship with the Young Bucks. My guess is that they would like to have him.

2) Zack Ryder

Another name who I could potentially see jumping ship from WWE to AEW is Zack Ryder.

The biggest reason is that Ryder is close friends with Cody Rhodes, who is one of the Executive Vice Presidents of AEW. At the very least, we know that communication is open between them.

Another reason is that WWE has underutilized Ryder forever. Fans have always been behind Ryder, despite him only receiving limited television time and opportunities. I could see Ryder go a similar route that Tye Dillinger did. Leave WWE and try to show your value to the wrestling world.

Ryder is someone who I could see jumping ship at some point.
