WWE Smackdown Results, April 17, 2018 – 21 Things That We Learned

1) Why Is WWE Keeping Rusev Day As Heels?

This weeks episode of Smackdown Live kicked off with AJ Styles.  He cut a promo about Shinsuke Nakamura but was interrupted by Aiden English and Rusev. Rusev Day received a massive pop and it left me wondering, why the hell are they keeping them as heels?

I don’t understand why they don’t run with Rusev Day. They are getting some of the loudest pops of the night.

2) Shelton Benjamin Is Now A Singles Star And A Heel

It was revealed after RAW last night that WWE had split up Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable as a tag team. On Smackdown this week, Shelton says that he never needed Gable and is ready to make an impact on his own.

Shelton is now a singles star and a heel. Should be interesting to see how it goes.

3) Jeff Hardy Is Now On Smackdown Live (And So Is The United States Title)!

The first move of the Superstar Shake-Up Was revealed early! Jeff Hardy is now a member of the Smackdown Roster and has brought along the United States Championship with him.

A big pickup for the blue brand!

4) Monday Night Rollins Lives On!

With Jeff Hardy coming to Smackdown with the United States Title, that means Seth Rollins is staying on RAW with the Intercontinental Title. This was a sigh of relief for many fans who wanted Seth to remain on Monday nights!

Monday Night Rollins will remain on the red brand!
