Here are some of our predictions for this week’s episode of Smackdown.
7) Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro Will Defeat The New Day In Their Non-Title Match
WWE has confirmed that Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro will be facing off against The New Day on Smackdown this week. This will be a non-title match.
My guess is that Nakamura and Cesaro will win this match. This will likely come after Sami Zayn cheats to help them win.
This will set up Nakamura and Cesaro for a future Smackdown Tag Team Title match. WWE doesn’t seem to be doing anything with Nakamura and his Intercontinental Championship right now, so this is what I see them doing with him in the short-term.
6) Sheamus Will Make His In-Ring Return
WWE has been airing vignettes over the past few weeks on Smackdown to hype the return of Sheamus.
My guess is that Sheamus is going to make his in-ring return on the episode this week.
This will likely be a squash match, with Sheamus destroying a local jobber. This will push that Sheamus is someone to watch out for on Smackdown in 2020.
5) Carmella Will Come To The Aid Of Lacey Evans In Her Feud Against Sasha Banks And Bayley
It seems clear that we are heading towards Bayley vs Lacey Evans at the Royal Rumble PPV. The problem with this feud right now is that Lacey is outnumbered since Bayley has Sasha Banks by her side.
I am going to guess that Sasha and Bayley will try to outnumber Lacey on Smackdown this week. This will lead to Carmella coming to the aid of Lacey.
I think that it makes sense for a babyface to join Lacey in this storyline. Carmella is a good choice as she hasn’t been used on television in a while. I think that she could make a solid addition to the storyline.
