1) Tom Phillips Missed Smackdown For The 2nd Week In A Row (And The Graphics Team Got Lazy)
For the second straight week, Tom Phillips was absent from the Smackdown Live commentary team. He was replaced by Michael Cole, who said Phillips was still ‘on assignment’.
WWE’s production team got a little lazy as they kept Tom’s name in the graphic introducing Cole, Byron Saxton and Corey Graves. Here is a photo:

2) Sami Zayn vs Shane McMahon Was Teased
This weeks episode of Smackdown Live kicked off with Shane McMahon. This came less than 24 hours after him and the Smackdown roster put RAW ‘under siege’. Shane was interrupted by Sami Zayn.
Zayn threatened to beat up Shane during the segment. Did WWE just plant the seeds for a future match between Shane and Sami? I certainly think so:

3) Gable & Benjamin Gained Some Momentum
Smackdown Live featured a tag team match between two of the top teams on the blue brand. The New Day faced off against Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable. The Usos were on commentary for the match.
Benjamin & Gable picked up the win, giving them some momentum heading into their eventual tag team title match against the Usos (whenever it actually happens):
