WWE Slammy Awards 2019 – Our Winners

7) Most Improved Female WWE Superstar Of The Year Award

– Our Winner: Dane Brooke

For me, the most improved female wrestler of 2019 is Dana Brooke. Dana seems to get better every time that we see her. Go back and watch a Dana match from a few years ago and compare it to her recent match against Bayley. You will definitely see an improved performer when comparing the two.

Dana still doesn’t get a lot of television time but I think that will change in 2020. She has proven that she can put on solid matches and shouldn’t just be looked at as a pretty face.

I can’t think of a female talent in WWE who has improved more than Dana.

6) OMG Shocking Moment Of The Year Award

— Our Winner: CM Punk Returns On ‘WWE Backstage’

CM Punk made a surprise appearance on ‘WWE Backstage’ back in November. This was his first WWE-related appearance in several years.

To me, this was the most shocking moment of the year. CM Punk back on WWE programming is not something that I saw coming anytime soon. Especially with how much bad blood that there was between Punk and WWE.

I know that ‘WWE Backstage’ is a FOX show but they are still working with WWE. Punk working with WWE in any capacity is shocking and I am still a bit surprised by it.

5) WWE Entertainer Of The Year Award

– Our Winner: Bray Wyatt

I have to give some credit to Bray Wyatt in these awards. He wins the award for the best entertainer of the year.

2019 saw Bray debut the ‘Firefly Fun House’ and ‘The Fiend’ character. Both of these have been incredibly successful so far, with some fans praising him as the best part of WWE television each week.

Bray has shown incredible range as a performer over these past several months. He has done a great job at building up (regular) Bray as a creep and psychopath. ‘The Fiend’ is also a character that legitimately scares younger viewers. Bray has shown a range that not many people are capable of. As a result, he deserves a lot of praise for what he has done in 2019.
