2017 OMG Shocking Moment of the Year Award

IWNerd’s Pick: Jinder Mahal Wins The WWE Title

• I don’t think that you will find a single wrestling fan who would have picked Jinder Mahal to be WWE Champion coming into 2017. For me, there is nothing else close to the shock that I had when Jinder won the WWE Title from Randy Orton at Backlash. You could even include Jinder winning the six-pack challenge to earn the Championship opportunity as a shocking moment. For him to go from a jobber to World Champion in less than a year, was wild. Love or hate Jinder, him winning the Title was a shocking moment.

Michael’s Pick:  #UnderSiege (Smackdown Live invades RAW)

• Superstars appearing on rival shows during the lead to Survivor Series is nothing new & it’s been done before. However, the day after TLC would shock us all when SDLive COO Shane McMahon not only invaded RAW, he brought the majority of the whole Smackdown Live roster with him. What followed was shocking & had us question what we were seeing was actually happening. Smackdown Live had completely destroyed the entire RAW roster & no one was spared from the Women’s Division to even an unfortunate intern. This moment was the talk of the week & made the word Under Siege the theme of Survivor Series this year. This shocking moment set the bar & if you ask me, NXT might want to keep their doors locked next year just in case.

IWNerd’s Pick: The Usos vs The New Day Rap Battle

• When thinking about the funniest moment of the year, I went back and watched the Usos vs New Day rap battle. This thing had me laughing from start to finish. The Usos hit Xavier Woods with the rated-R line that had the crowd shocked but also laughing. Xavier Woods came back with a great line of his own about the Usos carrying Roman Reigns’ bags. This thing was a lot of fun and had me dying laughing.

• “How The New Day do not win LOL Moment Of The Year every year is beyond me. This year was no different; in a segment that we all thought would be cringe ended up being must see to believe. The Usos & The New Day traded insults at each other & nothing was off the table. From Xavier Wood’s leaked sex tape to The Usos carrying Roman Reign’s luggage, this segment left us laughing & applauding both teams. Could we get another Rap-Off soon, please? If they can get Eminem as special guest judge this time, we might have our LOL Moment Of The Year 2018 already decided.”
