Asuka recently joined the Smackdown roster this past weekend for a live event in Madison Square Garden. Asuka took the spot of the injured Naomi, teaming up with Nikki Bella, Tamina and Becky Lynch to take on Carmella, Alexa Bliss, Mickie James and Natalya.
On Smackdown Live last week, Daniel Bryan announced that Alexa Bliss would be defending her Smackdown Women’s title against any female available on the Smackdown roster.
There are some rumors going around that this could be the way Asuka makes her WWE main roster debut. While this might just be a lot of wishful thinking from fans, WWE did their part in fueling the fire on social media.
During the MSG house show, WWE posted a photo of Asuka, teasing that she could be coming for Alexa Bliss and the Smackdown Women’s Title. The photo was quickly deleted and re-posted without any mention of Alexa Bliss:
So WWE initially teased Asuka coming after Alexa, then revised it to just mention she made an appearance at MSG. Interesting pic.twitter.com/rGQIEuhE3B

Could be a tease. Could be a simple mistake. We will have to wait and see at Wrestlemania. I don’t think any fan can deny that Asuka is ready to make her way up to WWE’s main roster. Would Wrestlemania be the right time? Speculation will certainly spark with Smackdown leaving their Women’s title match open-ended for the event.
