One of the matches that fans thought was a lock for Wrestlemania 33 was the Big Show vs Shaq. The match was set up at last years Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal when Shaq made a surprise appearance and confronted the Big Show. At the ESPY awards, the two had some words for one another, teasing the potential match.
Over the past few weeks we have been hearing some rumblings from both the Big Show and Shaq about why the match isn’t happening. Both have essentially blamed one another for the match not happening.
On the March 13th episode of RAW, the Big Show announced that he was entering the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
So why was the Big Show vs Shaq match scrapped?
There are some rumors going around that the match was scrapped due to Shaq wanting more money than WWE is willing to pay. Considering that the match will likely only last a few minutes, it might not be worth the kind of money that he is asking.
The Big Show was interviewed this week by Sports Illustrated and would say that he is still trying to make the match happen:
“As far as I know, we’re still trying to make Princess Shaq happy so we can move forward with the match at WrestleMania”

A majority of fans haven’t been too upset about the match getting dropped. Hopefully the Big Show will shine in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal as he has looked fantastic over the past several weeks.
There is still a chance Shaq appears in the Battle Royal if Vince decides to offer him the money. We will have to wait and see but it looks like a one on one match has been completely taken off the table.
