The 2017 edition of No Mercy is officially in the books. The event featured two big matches: Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman for the WWE Universal Championship and Roman Reigns vs John Cena.
Now that the event is over, how did Vince McMahon and company feel about their two big matches? Here are some details.
How Vince Felt About No Mercy
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), Vince McMahon was sad to be happy with both Cena vs Reigns and Strowman vs Lesnar.
Vince got what he wanted out of the matches. The idea is that WWE promised fans two Wrestlemania caliber matches and they got two non-controversial finishes in the middle of the ring.
Vince went into No Mercy with a long-term goal in mind. The goal is for Reigns to face off against Lesnar at Wrestlemania 34 and for them both to look as strong as possible leading up to the event. The booking of No Mercy really showcased that and they both won their matches cleanly.
Speaking of Vince, here are some rumors on his reaction to the Bullet Club ‘invading’ RAW
