WWE ran the United Kingdom Championship Tournament at the beginning of the year. The tournament was a success and names like Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne have burst onto many WWE fans’ radars. There have been rumors for months about a potential weekly show based solely on WWE’s U.K talent.
So far, nothing has happened and the U.K stars are used occasionally on NXT. Most recently, Pete Dunne appeared on RAW and the U.K division appeared on 205 Live while WWE was in Manchester.
Dave Meltzer provided an update on the potential weekly U.K show in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here).
According to Meltzer, WWE has told some of their U.K talent that they are looking at the weekly show to start around early next year. He also says that WWE is starting to book some buildings in case a television deal comes through for them.
Meltzer also says that WWE was scouting some potential new wrestlers at their tryout in Manchester last week. If the television deal comes through, they will likely look to bring some of them in.
