Roman Reigns was forced out of the Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View after news broke that he had contracted a viral infection. This nixed the Shield reunion that was supposed to take place at the event. It has been reported that Reigns contracted the mumps.
Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose both already have a match scheduled for Survivor Series, so what will Reigns be doing at the event?
Here is the latest.
It was previously reported that Reigns will be evaluated by WWE’s doctors on Monday (October 30th), to see if he is able to return or not.
If Reigns is cleared within the next week or two, the plan for him according to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via EWrestlingNews), is for Reigns to be the captain of Team RAW. This would be in the Team RAW vs Team Smackdown elimination match.
Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Reigns is expected back shortly before Survivor Series. There is a chance that Reigns could be kept off TV until after Survivor Series if WWE decides to go ahead with another storyline while Reigns is out.
It all seems to depend on Reigns’ health moving forward. If he is cleared in the very near future, he will likely be the captain. If he has to miss another few weeks, WWE could hold him off until after Survivor Series.
