Samoa Joe has been a name that many wrestling fans have wanted to see get a chance on WWE’s main roster. When the WWE brand split happened back in July, his name was mentioned as a likely call-up. This never happened and he has remained in NXT ever since.
In case you missed it, Samoa Joe won the NXT title from Shinsuke Nakamura at NXT Takeover: Toronto. This had many fans believing that they would have to wait even longer to see him get called up. He dropped the title back to Nakamura at a live event in Osaka, Japan last week.
Joe and Nakamura faced off again in a rematch in Melbourne, Australia. This time it was a steel cage match, where Nakamura was able to retain his title.
At the latest NXT TV taping, Joe wasn’t featured at all, indicating that he won’t be on NXT television anymore.
There are plenty of rumors suggesting that Joe is set for a main roster call-up anytime soon. Winning the title (and losing it twice in a row at live events) was a way to keep Joe looking strong before he heads up to the main roster.

WWE could have him debut anytime on RAW or Smackdown but the heaviest speculation is that he will be an entrant in the 2017 Royal Rumble. This will set Joe up for a solid run on WWE’s main roster, where it is believed that he will get a decent push.
These are rumors and speculation and should be taken with a grain of salt. Pretty smart strategy to keep Joe looking strong before he moves up. This indicates to me that they have big plans for him on the main roster.
The only question is, RAW or Smackdown Live? Let us know what you think in the comment section below!
Joe should go to smackdown imo.
