More Information On The Headbutt To Vince McMahon & Stephanie McMahon’s Original Role

Kevin Owens shocked the wrestling world last week by attacking Vince McMahon on Smackdown Live. This included a heatbutt that busted the WWE Chairman open. He finished it off by hitting Vince with a superkick and a frog splash from the top rope.

After the attack, Stephanie McMahon came to the ring. She scalded Owens before checking on her father. Here is a small tidbit about the original plan for the segment with Stephanie. Also, more on the headbutt.

Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), shared that there was a small change to what Stephanie McMahon was supposed to do during the segment.

According to Meltzer, the original plan was for Stephanie to come to the ring with a towel in her hand. Vince was apparently supposed to bleed all over the towel, making it very visible. As we know now, this didn’t end up happening.

Meltzer suggested after Smackdown Live that Vince likely bladed beforehand and covered up the cut with nu-skin. This allowed him to be busted open easily from the headbutt. A few days later, Meltzer says that it is now believed that Vince used Vaseline instead of nu-skin but it did a similar job.
