The Roman Reigns vs John Cena Storyline

John Cena and Roman Reigns will face off tonight at the No Mercy Pay-Per-View. This is a match that many fans have said could have been saved for Wrestlemania. Instead, we will be getting it at No Mercy.

Here are some of the latest rumors on the storyline between Reigns and Cena.

Roman Reigns vs John Cena

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), the long-term plan of this storyline will be for John Cena to endorse Roman Reigns as the new top guy in WWE. Reigns will likely be the one to come out on top in a ‘passing of the torch’ scenario. This doesn’t necessarily mean that Reigns will win tonight at No Mercy, but when the storyline is all said and done, he will be the victor.

It is unclear if this will be a multi-match program or simply a one-off. If the feud is ending tonight at No Mercy, expect Roman Reigns to be the victor. If this will be a multi-match series, expect Cena to pick up a win at either No Mercy, or the next time that they face off. Regardless of how they do it, the result will likely be Reigns going over in the end.

Cena currently isn’t advertised for the TLC Pay-Per-View next month. He is currently being advertised for Survivor Series. If the feud is going to feature multiple matches, we can assume that the next one will be at Survivor Series between them.

This does make logical sense. Cena’s career seems to be winding down and Reigns should be the one that ends up on top.
