Dolph Ziggler was last seen on Smackdown Live during the ‘Independence Day Battle Royal’ on July 4th. Ziggler was the first person eliminated from the match and hasn’t been seen on WWE Television since. Before that, he was involved in a feud with Shinsuke Nakamura and competed in the 2017 Money in the Bank ladder match.
There has been a lot of news and rumors circulating about Ziggler over the past 24 hours. We thought that we would try to put it all together for you.
So where has Ziggler been? According to Dave Meltzer on ‘Wrestling Observer Radio’ (subscribe here), Ziggler has been working WWE live events. This means creative just doesn’t have anything for him at the moment and he is not injured.
Also, Bryan Alvarez on ‘Filthy Four Daily’ says that Ziggler might get repackaged in WWE. This would mean changing up his look and (or) gimmick if it happens.
There have also been rumors circulating about Ziggler leaving WWE to go to Japan over the past few months. This came after Shinsuke Nakamura on Talking Smack said: “He’s a such a good wrestler. If he go to Japan … probably soon”. No one knew if Nakamura spilled the beans or if he simply misspoke due to his English. Ziggler is certainly playing into the narrative, teasing that he could be leaving WWE soon:
Yep. Better get there, you never know when you’ll get another chance
