It was reported this week by Pro Wrestling Sheet that a Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match was likely for this year. Many fans have questioned what the heck was going on after Smackdown Live this week where there was no announcement for the match.
It was announced that Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Tamina, Carmella and Natalya will face off next week. The winner will earn themselves a Smackdown Women’s Title shot against Naomi.
According to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), WWE is planning two Women’s matches for the Money in the Bank Pay-Per-View.
The first will be the Smackdown Women’s Title match. Naomi will defend against whoever wins on Smackdown Live next week.
The Observer confirms that a Women’s Money In The Bank match is the plan right now for the remaining Women. Unless things change, this means there will be two big Women’s matches on the card at the event this year.
WWE apparently had plans for a Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match last year. These plans were eventually scrapped. Let’s hope WWE doesn’t do the same thing again this year.

As for competitors, it is unclear exactly what WWE will do. Smackdown Live might have to bring in some more female talent for the ladder match if it happens. With Naomi defending her title, that would leave only 4 Women for the potential ladder match (not including Lana).
We will have to wait and see what happens. Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
