Rusev had a backstage promo this past week on Smackdown Live in Las Vegas. He says that he suffered the biggest embarrassment of his life at Summerslam, where he was defeated in 10 seconds by Randy Orton. He spoke about going back to his home country of Bulgaria and being looked upon as a loser.
Rusev said: “I must break a legend”, before walking away.
So who is that legend?
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), the long-term plans for Rusev are for him to continue his feud with Randy Orton.
The legend that he is talking about will more than likely be revealed to be Orton. This will likely lead to a rematch between them at the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View.
Our Take: This would 100% make sense as Rusev can claim their first match was a fluke. He really needs to win the match at Hell in a Cell to gain some credibility back. I think him and Orton could put on a solid match together if they are given some time.
