Planned NXT Takeover Matches That Were Reportedly Changed (Spoilers)

As you have likely have heard by now, WWE is bringing back ‘War Games’ for the upcoming NXT Takeover event. The event was announced by Triple H as being named: NXT Takeover: War Games. Warning, spoilers will follow!

The War Games match will feature: SAnitY (Eric Young, Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe) vs. Roderick Strong & The Authors of Pain (Akam, Rezar) vs. The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish).

Here are some of the latest rumors circulating about the original plans for the event.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), the decision to bring back ‘War Games’ was a late decision.

Meltzer says there were two matches that were originally planned for the event, but were changed. They were:

– Adam Cole vs Drew McIntyre for the NXT Championship.

– Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish vs SAnitY for the NXT Tag Team Championships.

McIntyre will defend his NXT Title at the War Games event against Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas. Cole, Fish, O’Reilly and SAnitY are now involved in the War Games match as mentioned prior.
