There is no question that Women’s wrestling has progressed a lot over the past few years. Last year at Wrestlemania 32, WWE introduced the Women’s Championship and got rid of the term ‘Diva’. Over the past year, we have seen the females of WWE break some ground, including the first ever female Hell in a Cell match (between Charlotte and Sasha Banks).
It appears as if Wrestlemania 33 will be a prime example of how far Women’s wrestling has progressed over the past year.
Here are the latest rumors
During Charlotte Flair’s appearance on the Jim Norton and Sam Roberts show, she said that she is pretty sure that both the RAW and Smackdown Women’s Championship matches will be on the main card of Wrestlemania this year.
Bayley will defend her RAW Women’s Championship against Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Nia Jax. On the Smackdown side, Alexa Bliss will be defending her Women’s Title against any available female on the Smackdown roster.
We can also throw in the mixed tag team match between John Cena and Nikki Bella vs the Miz and Maryse which will be on the main card. If Charlotte is telling the truth, that means that 3 matches on the main card of Wrestlemania will feature Women.
If you have been a fan for a few years, you know that the Women used to be lucky if they would even get a single match on the card.

Last year at Wrestlemania 32, there were two Women’s matches. Charlotte vs Sasha vs Becky Lynch was on the main card and the 8 Woman tag match was on the kick-off show. This year will likely feature 3 on the main card. Progress to say the least!
