There have been a lot of discussions surrounding the main event of Wrestlemania 33 and what match will go on last. Will it be Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship? Will it be Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship? Or will it be something else like Roman Reigns vs the Undertaker?
Many fans believe that Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt will be the final match of the night. After all, Orton did win the 2017 Royal Rumble match and WWE has said multiple times that Orton will “main event Wrestlemania”.
There are some rumors circulating right now that suggest that Orton vs Wyatt will NOT be the final match of the night. Instead, Goldberg vs Lesnar will be the match that will be going on last at Wrestlemania.
The argument is that Goldberg and Lesnar are the two bigger draws compared to Orton and Wyatt. As a result, Vince McMahon will be putting that match on last. From a business perspective, you want to put the match with the most mainstream appeal to close the show.

As for Orton earning a place in the main event with his win at the Royal Rumble, we have seen WWE do this before. Look back at the Hell in a Cell PPV in 2016 where WWE promoted a triple main event. Expect WWE to do something similar to avoid making the RAW or Smackdown World Title feel more significant than the other.
At the end of the day, only one match can truly main event a show and that means going on last. Expect it to be Goldberg and Lesnar on the night of Wrestlemania 33.
