Today’s article features the latest on potential competition for WWE at Madison Square Garden. Also, some of the latest buzz on Ronda Rousey and more. Make sure to always take rumors with a grain of salt.
Ronda Rousey’s Schedule
Ronda Rousey isn’t expected to work the Extreme Rules PPV. The event takes place on July 15th, 2018 and is the PPV event after Money in the Bank. Brock Lesnar and John Cena are also both not expected to work the event.
Ronda vs Nia
According to Cageside Seats, the match between Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank is expected to be “very short”.
Competition At MSG
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Forum, a non-WWE promotion has booked Madison Square Garden for a date later in 2018. It is unclear if it will happen or not but it shows that WWE doesn’t have a complete lock on MSG for wrestling events anymore. Here is a quote (via Wrestling News):
“WCW could never get into MSG. Nobody could. Even with Turner ownership. Everyone tried constantly through 2000 or so from Crockett to Verne to everyone.
Now anyone can run it. There is a show booked by a non-WWE promotion before the end of this year. I expect it not to happen and hasn’t been announced, but there is a hold on a date and WWE can’t stop it.
