WWE Rumors (June 1, 2018): Summerslam Main Event, NXT On TV, Another Potential Female Signing

Today’s article features the latest on the rumors of NXT moving to FOX. We also have news on the possible Summerslam main event and another potential female signing. Make sure to take rumors with a grain of salt as always.

The Future Of NXT and 205 Live

There have been some rumors floating around about NXT possibly moving to Fox Sports next year. Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter says that this is NOT the case and there have been no discussions about NXT or 205 Live to FOX or the USA Network.

Summerslam Main Event

Meltzer adds that the tentative plan for the Summerslam main event will involve Brock Lesnar and the Universal Championship. This will be Brock’s next Title defense as he is not scheduled for Extreme Rules [side note: check out our list of 12 matches that we think could happen at Summerslam here].

Another Possible Female Signing

Meltzer also says that Xia Brookside has canceled her summer tour after previously asking for more dates from Stardom. The belief according to Meltzer is that she is either going to WWE (full-time) or just for the Mae Young Classic. She apparently told the promotion that she can’t give a reason for canceling, other than that she has a big opportunity this summer. WWE has made it clear they don’t want people telling anyone anything about coming in. Her father is Robbie Brookside, who works for WWE as a trainer.

Speaking of Meltzer, here is his list of the best NXT matches of all time.
