At the upcoming WWE Payback event, Randy Orton will defend his WWE Championship against Bray Wyatt. This won’t be just a typical wrestling match. Wyatt has challenged Orton to face him in a ‘House Of Horrors’ match and the offer was accepted.

So what exactly is a ‘House of Horrors’ match? What should fans expect at Payback?

According to rumors circulating, the WWE isn’t exactly sure what the ‘House of Horrors’ match will end up looking like. They have a general idea but still haven’t decided what they are going to do.

The company recently sent out surveys to WWE fans, asking what they want to see when the match happens. Here are some of the options that they included:

  • A match set outside the arena
  • Darkness
  • Mirrors
  • Creepy/Scary
  • Fire
  • Projected images
  • Music
  • Pitch forks
  • Fog
  • Other

Rumors also suggest this could be similar to the ‘Final Deletion’ that happened in TNA with the ‘Broken Hardy’s’.

We will have to see what ends up happening at Payback. It could be a big success or a massive flop. Let’s all hope that it is more entertaining than their match at Wrestlemania 33 that disappointed many fans.

  1. To get an idea of what a “house of horrors” match is, is to go back and watch some of Kevin Sullivan’s special matches where he often dubbed it “the house of horrors” among a few other names.

    A House of Horrors can be anything from a match where the ropes are either wrapped in bobwire or are bobwires,the bobwires may be in flames to a cage match and may be the first ever flaming cage match or even three cages one sitting on top of the other like a tower (tower of doom).

    What I’m getting at is it is complexed and designed to be brutally entertaining.
