Goldberg won the WWE Universal Championship at Fastlane by defeating Kevin Owens in less than 25 seconds. It has been confirmed that Goldberg will defend his WWE Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 33.
The two have been feuding since Survivor Series where we saw the shocking defeat of Lesnar in just over a minute at the hands of Goldberg. Going into that match it was originally believed that Survivor Series would be a one-off for Goldberg. This didn’t turn out to be the case and he signed a new deal with WWE before the show.
So what does the future have in store for Goldberg?
Rumors currently suggest that Goldberg will be retiring after the match at Wrestlemania. The original plan was for Goldberg to lose at Survivor Series but plans changed and he signed a new deal with the company. This deal was rumored to be for the Royal Rumble, Fastlane and Wrestlemania (along with the various RAW’s he appeared at). Nothing more.
The storyline of Goldberg winning at Survivor Series in a minute was rumored to be designed with the end-game of Brock beating him at Wrestlemania. Think about it for a minute, do you really think Brock is going to lose AGAIN to Goldberg? Doubtful. Along the way, Goldberg made some more money and was able to have one last title reign on his resume. He also got to show fans of today a glimpse of what made Goldberg so special in his prime.

Goldberg is only advertised for the RAW before Wrestlemania 33 in Philadelphia. If these rumors are true, This could be the final 2 times that we see him.
