Chris Jericho lost the WWE United States Championship to Kevin Owens on Smackdown Live a few weeks ago. This came only two days after he won the title at Payback. After the match, Owens would beat down his former best friend with a vicious assault.
This was WWE’s way to write Jericho off television for the time being as he tours with his band: Fozzy. Jericho confirmed his departure, saying goodbye to fans and that he would see them again.
So when should WWE fans expect to see Jericho back with WWE?
We don’t have the answer for WWE television, but we do know that he has recently been added to WWE’s live events in Tokyo, Japan. The events take place on June 30th and July 1st at the Ryogoku Kokugikan.
After looking at Fozzy’s website, the final date listed for their current tour is June 24th. Unless more dates are added, this would open the door for Jericho to return to WWE full-time by July.
It is probably too early to get our hopes up because Jericho has worked live events in the past without being featured on television. It would be pretty great to see him back on Smackdown Live by July and back into the mix of things.
