After the 2016 WWE Draft, both RAW and Smackdown Live received their own tag team title belts. The design was the exact same, the only thing different was the colors for each brand. RAW’s Tag Team titles are red and silver while Smackdown’s are blue and silver.
It appears as if both the RAW and Smackdown Live tag team titles could be getting an alteration over the next few weeks.
According to dvizzle on reddit (who is a trusted source in the belt community), WWE is going to change both of the tag team belts to feature custom side-plates:
“Being told the tags on both shows have had designs modified to take removable sideplates like the main belts. Same source said these should be showing up on TV within the upcoming weeks”
This will be similar to what we see with the main title belts for the men and women on both brands.
The reasoning? It seems like the change will be made for marketing purposes. Changing the design to custom side-plates will allow WWE to make some extra cash when they sell them on WWE Shop. The company probably realized they are missing out on a ton of cash now that the Hardy Boyz are back and are the champions.

We have to assume that if this ends up happening, the Intercontinental and United States Titles could be following suit in the near future.
