Brock Lesnar successfully retained his WWE Universal Championship against Braun Strowman at No Mercy. Brock won the match decisively, which means that Braun Strowman probably isn’t getting a rematch anytime soon.
So who will be the next person to challenge Brock for the WWE Universal Championship? Let’s take a look at some of the latest rumors from now until Wrestlemania 34.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns still seems to be the plan for Wrestlemania 34. This has been a long-term plan and has been rumored since around Wrestlemania 33. Both Lesnar and Reigns went over strong in their matches at No Mercy.
Meltzer also noted that there were two guys that were rumored for singles matches against Brock earlier in the year. That would be Finn Balor and Seth Rollins.
It appears as if Seth is off the list since he is busy in the tag team division. Meltzer speculates that Balor could be the next opponent for Brock when he returns. He says that he is unsure if Brock will return at Survivor Series or at the Royal Rumble but that could be the next match.
Looks like Brock vs Balor and Brock vs Reigns could be our next matches for the Universal Title. What would you think of these two matches?
