Goldberg won the WWE Universal Championship at the Fastlane PPV where he defeated Kevin Owens in just over 20 seconds. He is set to defend his title at Wrestlemania 33 against Brock Lesnar, who he has been feuding with for the past several months.
There had been a lot of debate whether or not this match actually needed the WWE Universal Title involved based on the star-power of both Goldberg and Lesnar. There were arguments for both, but WWE chose to make it the marquee match on the RAW brand for the event.
The rumored finish for the match is that Brock Lesnar will be walking out as the new Universal Champion. The apparent reason that Lesnar originally agreed to lose to Goldberg at Survivor Series (in just over a minute) was because there was a long-term plan in place.
Lesnar loses at Survivor Series and is eliminated by Goldberg in the Royal Rumble only to win the match that counts, at Wrestlemania 33.
Goldberg’s contract is set to run out after Wrestlemania. While he could sign for more dates, it is very unlikely he sticks around as champion at his age.
Lesnar winning also makes sense from a logical standpoint. Goldberg won their original clash at Wrestlemania XX and he defeated him again at Survivor Series. Would WWE really have Brock lose 3 times to Goldberg? Don’t count on it. Especially when Lesnar has several more years in the tank for WWE.

Lesnar is rumored to hold onto the belt until Summerslam where he will eventually drop it to younger talent. This should be some solace for Wrestling fans dreading him as champion. Also, we could be seeing Kevin Owens vs Brock Lesnar after Wrestlemania since he still has his rematch.
