WWE Rumor: Why Samoa Joe Was Wearing A Suit On RAW

Samoa Joe made his WWE main roster debut on the January 30th episode of RAW when he appeared out of nowhere to attack Seth Rollins. He officially signed his contract for the RAW brand and made his in-ring debut on the February 6th episode.

You might have noticed that Samoa Joe was wearing a suit during the opening segment when he signed his contract with Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley. We received numerous tweets from fans asking why he was wearing a suit, saying that it doesn’t really fit his character.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), Dave Meltzer says that the reason for Samoa Joe wearing the suit was to portray him as a hitman (or mobster) type character.

Joe has started going by: “The Destroyer” as of late. He called out the entire RAW locker room, saying:

“Because the Destroyer has arrived and there is nothing you can do about it”

It also seems likely that Joe wore the suit to further display his connection with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Joe talked about Triple H giving him a chance when no one else would in his promo and being loyal to him. It is likely that he will be working as the Authority’s muscle to begin his main roster career.
