8) The Original Plans For The Men’s Rumble Match
The news of Roman Reigns’ leukemia returning shocked the wrestling world a few months ago. According to a rumor, it also scrapped some big plans for the Royal Rumble.
According to @Wrestlevotes, the plan at one point was for the Rock to win the Royal Rumble and challenge Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 35. With Reigns more-than-likely out for Wrestlemania, those plans have been scrapped.
Could the Rock still appear at the Rumble, even with Roman gone? This will be something to keep an eye on.
7) Why Brock vs Braun Was Scrapped
WWE made a big change to the Royal Rumble card. Brock Lesnar will now be defending his Universal Championship against Finn Balor. Braun Strowman was originally Brock’s opponent at the event.
A recent report suggests that the match was changed in order to protect Braun. Vince McMahon reportedly felt like Braun couldn’t take another loss here after losing some momentum recently. As a result, instead of doing a screwy finish at the Rumble, Strowman was replaced in the match.
This also could be a big hint that Lesnar is more-than-likely retaining against Balor.
6) Brock Wants To Face Finn
According to a recent report, Brock Lesnar is excited about the opportunity to work with Finn Balor.
Brock reportedly prefers working with smaller guys. He apparently wanted to work with Finn last year at the Rumble, until those plans were scrapped by Vince McMahon.
That is a great sign if you are a fan of Finn. It means that Brock probably won’t be mailing it in at the Rumble, which could mean a great match.
