Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns

WWE Universal Title

Roman Reigns will get his chance to take on Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Title on Sunday. The interesting part about this match is that Reigns’ WWE United States Title isn’t on the line.

There have been rumors that WWE wants Reigns to be a double champion, holding both the Universal and United States Titles at the same time. This would be similar to what Conor McGregor did after his win at UFC 205 and Seth Rollins did last year at Summerslam.

This one is tough. I can see either scenario happening. On one hand, I am not sure if WWE wants to face the outrage that some fans will have seeing Reigns become World Champion again AND holding 2 titles at the same time. On the other hand, it seems like Owens is destined to feud with Jericho, which wouldn’t require the title being involved.

I am going to with Owens winning here. It seems too early for the belt to switch hands in this feud. I can see Owens cheating to win, with Reigns getting another chance, possibly at the Royal Rumble. If WWE is planning on making Reigns a double champion, I don’t expect it to happen on Sunday.
