News broke on Friday afternoon that ‘Talking Smack’ would be cancelled as a weekly show. As first reported by PWInsider, the show is being dropped from after Smackdown Live each week. It will now only air after Pay-Per-View events, similar to what WWE does with ‘Raw Talk’.
The news has upset a lot of WWE fans, who have said that the show was one of their favourite parts of the week in WWE programming.
WWE released a statement to Pro Wrestling Sheet about the weekly cancellation of the show:
“We continuously review WWE Network’s programming based on a variety of factors, including viewership and subscriber research. Talking Smack and Raw Talk will air following pay-per-view events, and Tuesday will continue to feature 205 Live.“
Looks like from this statement we can assume it wasn’t doing great numbers on the WWE Network? We will have to wait for any further details over the next few days.
Certainly a bummer as it gave some of the WWE locker room a different platform to express themselves. We also got some incredible moments like Daniel Bryan vs the Miz.
