On RAW this week, WWE announced the plans for the first-ever Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 34. In theory, it is a good idea and a chance to get all of their female talents on the Wrestlemania card. The problem is, there are a number of allegations against Moolah that don’t paint her in the greatest light (you can read more about these allegations in this reddit thread).

As a result, WWE has received a lot of backlash from fans after the announcement. Here were some of the Tweets:
Becky deleted her tweet regarding the fabulous moolah battle royal. Hope WWE realizes there mistake. Change the name.

The “Fabulous” Moolah was a serial abuser of women in every way possible. She made her career off of the suffering and exploitation of young women who trusted her with their lives & safety. She shouldn’t be honored by WWE — they should be ashamed that they enabled her. #RAW

With the #metoo movement going on at the moment you’d expect @WWE not to name the women’s battle royal after someone who has such awful accusations of sex trafficking and more against them. 1 step forward 200 steps back into guess. #FabulousMoolah

This whole thing about the Fabulous Moolah actually being bad has me thinking that WWE is not a very progressive company like i thought they were.

lol the WWE is naming a match after the Fabulous Moolah because no one bothered to tell Vince that Google exists.

We will have to wait and see if this story gets picked up by any larger outlets.
