The current RAW commentary team features Jonathan Coachman, Corey Graves, and Michael Cole. The Smackdown crew features Graves, Byron Saxton, and Tom Phillips.
According to a new report, WWE could be looking to make a change to the commentary team in the future.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), Dave Meltzer says that WWE is big into diversity right now when it comes to their broadcast team. He says that the company is hiring based on fitting into certain demographics.
To go along with that, Meltzer adds that the company is eventually looking to bring in a Woman to do color commentary.
No names are mentioned by Meltzer but we have to think that Beth Phoenix would be a candidate. She recently worked on the WWE Mixed Match Challenge and also did commentary for the Wrestlemania Women’s Battle Royal. Lita also recently called the Mae Young Classic so she might be another name considered.
