No Mercy is this Sunday night! The event will be headlined by some huge matches, including Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman for the Universal Title and Roman Reigns vs John Cena. Here are some of the biggest rumors heading into the event. Reminder, these are RUMORS and should be taken with a grain of salt.
Emma’s Role In The Women’s Title Match
Alexa Bliss will defend her RAW Women’s Championship in a fatal 5-way: Alexa vs Nia Jax vs Sasha Banks vs Bayley vs Emma.
Emma was certainly a surprise entrant based on her booking over the past few months. According to a rumor floating around, there might be a reason why she is in the match.
One rumor suggests that the only reason why Emma is in this match is to be the one who takes the pinfall loss. If this rumor is accurate, it means that whoever wins the match on Sunday will be pinning Emma.
It makes a bit of sense if you think about. WWE probably doesn’t want Sasha, Bayley, Alexa or Nia being the ones to lose the match. Emma fills the role pretty well here if that is the WWE’s goal.
We will have to wait and see if Emma is the one that takes the pin on Sunday.
No Asuka
With WWE hyping the debut of Asuka on RAW, a popular fan theory is that she will appear at No Mercy: Asuka will destroy the RAW Women’s division and make one heck of a debut.
This sounds great but from the rumors that we have heard, Asuka won’t actually be making her debut until next month at the TLC Pay-Per-View.
Asuka broke her collarbone during her match at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III. As a result, she had to vacate the NXT Women’s Championship. Many fans thought that this might have been a convenient way for her to vacate the title without having to end her undefeated streak.
If Asuka doesn’t appear until TLC, we can assume that the injury is legitimate.
Don’t get your hopes up for Asuka on Sunday if this rumor is to be believed.
Cena’s Status After No Mercy
John Cena will face off in a huge match against Roman Reigns at No Mercy. Some fans have called this a match that should have been saved for Wrestlemania.
You have probably heard the rumors of the work that Cena is doing in Hollywood right now. He is going to be starring in the upcoming Transformers spin-off. There is also talk that Cena is a finalist for the role of Shazam in the DC Extended Universe. It is clear that he is one busy man.
Cena is currently not advertised for the TLC Pay-Per-View (the next RAW Pay-Per-View after No Mercy).
Does that mean that Reigns is a lock to win on Sunday? We will have to wait and see.
