On RAW this week, fans saw the long-awaited debut of Emmalina. After 17 weeks of waiting, she came out to let the WWE Universe know that the makeover from Emma to Emmalina was now complete. She confused fans by saying that they would now be seeing the makeover from Emmalina back to Emma.
So why was the Emmalina character scrapped?
According to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, WWE had big plans for the character. After multiple rehearsals with Emma, WWE officials realized that she wasn’t able to produce their vision for the character.
According to the report, WWE wanted the character to be based on Sable or The Kat. They are still really high on the idea so don’t be surprised if down the road they attempt something like that again with someone new. Emma was unable to impress the producers with their idea for the gimmick.
This is the reason why WWE reverted her back to Emma and why her debut took so long. As a result, we got 17 weeks of waiting and a confusing segment on RAW.
