Over the past few years we have seen WWE bring over some incredible talent from Japan. Hideo Itami, Shinsuke Nakamura and Asuka are names that have had some instant success since making their debuts in NXT. It looks like WWE just signed another top-level talent from Japan.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), WWE has signed Kairi Hojo to a three-year contract. Dave Meltzer has praised Hojo on numerous occasions, even saying that she is among the best wrestlers in the world regardless of gender.
Hojo is best known for her work in Stardom, winning numerous titles and awards. She also appeared on Lucha Underground back in November as ‘Doku’.
The report also says that Io Shirai (another top-level Japanese female) is re-considering signing with WWE after Hojo committed to the company.
We can assume that Hojo might be used for the upcoming WWE Women’s tournament that is rumored to take place this summer. If she participates, she will be an early candidate to win the whole thing.

A big addition for WWE and their Women’s division. She has a ton of potential and I recommend checking her out on Stardom or YouTube. Fans of Stardom will tell you that there is a lot to be excited about. We will update you when with any more details or signings of female talent.
