The field has been officially set for the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. We have ranked the competitors based on how likely it is that they could walk out with the briefcase.
8) Ricochet
— Likelihood Of Him Winning: 4/10
Ricochet is someone who I don’t think has a great chance to win the Money in the Bank ladder match.
Don’t get me wrong, I am happy that he is involved in the match. It just feels way too early to put him in the World Title picture. Still, crazier things have happened in WWE.
In my opinion, Ricochet is only in this match for some sort of big bump from the top of the ladder (which will be awesome). I don’t expect him to win though.
7) Finn Balor
— Likelihood Of Him Winning: 5/10
I think that Finn Balor has a decent chance to win the Money in the Bank ladder match this year.
He has two things working against him. The first is that he is holding the Intercontinental Championship. It would seem a bit weird for him to hold both the Intercontinental Title and the Money in the Bank briefcase. Not impossible but weird.
The second thing working against him is that he is no longer on RAW. A few weeks ago, I thought it would be perfect if Balor won the briefcase and cashed in on Seth Rollins (in advance) for a match at Summerslam. This would be a rematch from their Universal Title match a few years ago, where Balor got injured. While it could still happen, this seems unlikely since Balor is now on the blue brand.
I would be great with Balor winning but I don’t know if it is going to happen.
6) Ali
— Likelihood Of Him Winning: 5.5/10
I think that Ali has a decent chance to win the Money in the Bank briefcase this year.
The main reason why I have Ali ranked this high is because of his history with Kofi Kingston. As we all know, Kofi took the spot of the injured Ali at the Elimination Chamber. Kofi went on a huge run over the past few months and went on to win the WWE Championship.
To me, this sets up a perfect feud between Ali and Kofi for the WWE Title at some point. I could see Ali winning the briefcase and cashing in on Kofi (in advance). Or, I could even see a heel turn where Ali steals the Title from Kofi out of frustration.
Either way, I wouldn’t count out Ali.
