WWE Issues Statement On First Positive Case Of Coronavirus

According to a report from Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, someone who works for WWE has recently tested positive for coronavirus.

This person is said to be an on-screen talent for WWE but not somebody who is on the roster. Here is what Satin wrote about the situation:

According to sources, the person went out to dinner with friends who work in the healthcare industry following the completion of WWE’s last batch of tapings (which included WrestleMania 36).

We’re told the person then began feeling symptomatic and was tested for coronavirus.

The person tested positive and immediately went into quarantine. Since then, they’ve been in quarantine the entire time. Sources say the person was cleared of the virus at the end of this week and is now feeling much better.

WWE has issued the following statement to Satin about the situation:

“A WWE employee has tested positive for COVID-19. We believe this matter is low risk to WWE talent and staff, as the individual and a roommate became symptomatic in the days following exposure to two people working in acute health care on the evening of March 26, after WWE’s TV production on a closed set was already complete. The employee had no contact with anyone from WWE since being exposed to those two individuals, is doing well, and made a complete recovery.”

We will let you know if we hear anything more.
